About KM Physio

Katie McLernon, BSc (hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC reg.

With over 12 years of experience, working in the NHS and in private practice, working with adults and with children, and working with athletes and the elderly, Katie has a wide variety of skills and knowledge to help you resolve emergent and chronic issues.  Katie works as a specialist paediatric physio (in rheumatology and chronic pain) in the NHS, sees patients privately at Ely Complementary Health Clinic, and more recently, has provided a mobile service in her home town of Saffron Walden and the surrounding villages, having recognised a real need in this area, for physio care that gets out to patients in their homes.

Being a keen runner and cross-fitter herself, and having completed long-distance challenges previously, Katie understands the frustrations posed by injuries and pain problems whilst trying to train for big events, and how important it is to get things back to normal as soon as possible, so that an acute (short-term) problem doesn't become a chronic (long-term) problem.

If, however, you have found yourself dealing with a chronic problem, fear not, as Katie is well versed in dealing with these challenging cases, with Master's level training in managing persistent pain problems and practical experience through her work in the NHS helping patients manage persistent pain problems.

Katie prides herself on being compassionate, friendly and professional in her dedication to helping patients overcome their pain, in the short term and in the long term.  Her mission is to help you regain function and improve your overall quality of life, and her approach addresses the root cause of a problem, as well as aiming to resolve symptoms as quickly as possible.
