What to expect from physiotherapy?

What is the structure of the initial session?

All KM Physio treatments begin with an assessment of the history of your condition. This will include questions about your general health and day-to-day activities. This will be followed by a physical examination and treatment. Don't be surprised if your breathing gets assessed, and seemingly other unrelated parts of your body! Everything in our body works together so assessment and treatment may surprise you!

What to expect from subsequent sessions?

At subsequent sessions, you will be asked questions about your symptoms, and you will be re-assessed. Treatment may be adapted accordingly. There will be more time for treatment in follow up sessions, once you have had the initial assessment.

How quickly will I recover?

This is a very difficult question to answer and depends on a lot of things, from how long you have had your pain to how good you are at remembering to do your exercises. Expect gradual changes rather than a "quick fix".

Will I get any exercises to do?

Yes! Physio always work best when you have a clear plan of what you need to work on in between sessions. Muscle memory changes, muscle length, muscle strength and balance, all take time to develop.
